A new WEAK13 track has been recorded titled ‘LOVE THE SNIPER’. The track is dedicated to the memory of Kev Preece who passed away on 27/06/2007 aged 32. The track is not yet available for release but plans are being made for the future. Nick J.Townsend wants to make sure that any money made from the recording will go to the children of Kev Prece.

• Prouder Than U (2001)

Once again the trademark over distorted guitars are back along with purpose made harsh noise is part of the recording sessions with producer and engineer ‘Crazy Mule’ and is Nick J.Townsend’s homage to underground basement sound music.

Both Nick and Crazy Mule wanted to make a basement sounding but powerful WEAK13 track. Everything recorded in one take and all music is played and written by Nick J.Townsend.

The recently recorded track titled ‘PROUDER THAN U 2′ should be part of the new WEAK13 album scheduled for 09.09.09. and can be heard on the WEAK13 Myspace pages.

• WEAK13 – MY OWN YOURS:
  A welcome return to WEAK13’s early roots with gritty and raw overdriven guitars fused with trademark insane drums and sporadic vocals. One for the early fans to get their teeth into. An example of why Nick is known for writing the best and most original metal tunes.
• WEAK13 – DNA:
  One of the darkest WEAK13 songs to date, twisted, eerie, clever and thought provoking. Haunting piano (yes!), industrial sounding and an anthem to die to!
• WEAK13 – LIGHT OF THE NIGHT:
  The surprise of the year is this totally commercial and radio friendly track but towards the end of the song you can hear Nick J.Townsend’s twisted imagination turning beauty into something sinister.

So far ‘DNA’, ‘MY OWN YOURS’ and ‘LIGHT OF THE NIGHT’ have been unveiled and each show a different approach to previous work from Nick J.Townsend.

After a long discussion with front-man Nick Townsend about shooting the new rock video, it has been decided that this will be set in world war one trenches.

The figure of Nick has come back through time to watch his grandfather writing a final fare well letter before the battle of the Somme offensive, Nick as the direct descendant and lead singer of the next biggest rock band helps his grandfather finish the letter as a witness, and this becomes the song Nick sings as the letter is being written.

There will be a few roles and a lot of extras parts in this video. Shooting will take place within the next 5-6 weeks, as soon as we confirmed the site of the filming.

Those wishing to be a part of the video for experience please let us know.

It will be an experience to take part in it, and you will get screen time and will air on Sky TV.

With props provided by The Props Resource Department who have been supplying the TV and Film industry with props, Weapons and scenery for over 20 years – The new WEAK13 video will be an authentic depiction of WWI trench warfare directed by Chris Stone.

I’m happy to be working with a fine bunch of people. The music I wrote for the WEAK13 tune is one of my most epic yet, very different to my normal output so it’s great that everyone is taking the song seriously. Well done everyone and here’s to the making of a great piece of film.
